Tuesday, November 1, 2005 It's Halloween, people are dressed as high school kids (including the high school kids), and Henry has conspired with BJ to delay Mike while BJ traps Katie in his bedroom to relive their high school prom. But Mike has escaped. "Do you know where Katie is?" Mike asks Maddie. "She's probably playing that crazy assassins game, like everyone else," says Henry. "She's with B.J.," answers Maddie. "And they're probably talking about abs and pecks and how to beef up business," says Henry. "I think she's in trouble, Mike. B.J. is not who he says he is," says Maddie. "He's a nerd! You saw the pocket protector. Big bucks is a dweeb from high school. And now that he's rich, he's trying to make everyone's life a little bit nicer," says Henry, trying to throw Maddie off track. "His name is Byron Glass and he went to high school with Katie," spills Maddie. "She knows him?" asks Mike. "No, that's just it. He's totally changed. She didn't recognize him. And now he's stalking her," says Maddie. "B.J. has Katie in his bedroom?" asks Mike. "I'm not sure but yeah, I think so. He made me put the disco ball up there," replies Maddie. "The disco ball?" asks Mike. "From their high school prom. I know, it's nauseating. But I went up there and I knocked. The door was locked but I heard music coming..." explains Maddie. Mike starts to leave but Henry stops him, "Wait, wait, Mike." "Not this time. Not this time, Henry," says Mike impatiently. "You're gonna need the key," says Henry. "I know it's around here somewhere," says Henry evasively. "Henry, give me the key!" demands Mike. "Here we go. Here it is," says Henry, handing it to Mike who rushes out of the room to save Katie. "Admit it. You feel better," says Maddie. "Really, Maddie? Because I'm homeless now? Because I'm out of a job?" asks Henry. "Hey, Katie -- the woman who you supposedly love -- is up there, trapped in B.J.'s bedroom," Maddie reminds him. "Why do you have to make it sound so sinister? All he wants is a little bit of time alone with her so he can explain to her who he really is," says Henry. "That is not all he wanted. Trust me," says Maddie. "Maddie, so what? So what, he had a terminal crush on her in the tenth grade. Is there a harm in that? She says no to him because she always says no. And then he cries his eyes out and then thud, we're back to reality. But you know what? You want to take that moment away from him. You just want to squash him," whines Henry. "You know, I read about this. Half a semester of psych in health class last year," says Maddie, "You identify with him!" "Oh, whoa! I am nothing like Byron Glass," says Henry. "Except for the fact that you both fell in love with Katie," Maddie points out. "Yeah, and she left me," adds Henry. "And that is why you feel for Byron," concludes Maddie. "I don't -- no, I don't feel for Byron. Okay, all right, am I a little happy that he put a little bit of a scare into a certain local carpenter? Yeah, right, I'm human. But I would never hurt Katie on purpose. You know that. This has really messed you up. Do you understand? Me, I can go back and live in the limo from now until Shrove Tuesday. You -- B.J. was going to put you through college," says Henry. "College? Once Mike flags B.J.'s little trip down memory lane, you can say goodbye to your little sister, because B.J. Green is going to kill me," says Maddie dramatically. Meanwhile, upstairs, Mike rescues Katie from BJ, who claims he meant no harm. They come rushing through the hallway where Maddie and Henry are standing. "Katie?" asks Henry, concerned. "She's fine. She doesn't need anything from you. I will deal with you tomorrow," says Mike, ushering an obviously upset Katie through. "She wasn't wearing that when she got here. She was wearing that cheerleader's outfit," says Maddie, noticing that BJ made her change into a replica of her old prom dress. "Yeah, I know. Maddie," says Henry. "He must've made her change. Oh! That is so out there!" cries Maddie. "Her dress was all loose. She was crying. How could this happen?" asks Henry, finally realizes how dangerous the situation really was. "Because we let it happen. You and me. We did this to her," says Maddie. "No we didn't. This wasn't us. This was B.J. Green. What else did that sicko do to her?" wonders Henry. "Well he's standing right here. Why don't you ask him yourself?" says BJ, who has just arrived. Henry glares at him. "Maybe if I just showed up in town, and just flat out told her, straight out who I really am -- but I just figured that -- if she knew that I was Byron Glass, she would just hate me," says BJ sadly. "I thought she liked Byron Glass," says Maddie. "I don't like Byron Glass!" yells BJ. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell. Please, accept my apology?" asks BJ and Henry holds Maddie tight. "Yeah, not a problem," he says. "So, you won't quit, right? Because, if you walk out on me, Henry, I don't know what I'm going to do," says BJ. "Hey, no, I'll -- I'm happy to stay. We both are, aren't we, Maddie?" replies Henry. "Really? So you won't leave?" asks BJ. "No -- what's a Don Quixote without his Sancho Panza, huh?" jokes Henry. "What does that make me? The donkey?" asks Maddie. "It's makes you Sancho Panza's sister -- Madalena the smart," says Henry. Maddie runs off. "I don't blame her. I'm a messed-up person," sighs BJ. "No," says Henry in mock disbelief. "Yeah. Women hate me," smiles BJ. "B.J., If there's one thing I know, it's that -- billionaires -- being a billionaire -- can buy you a lot of love," says Henry. "I don't want to buy love anymore," says BJ. "So, hey man, you rent it for the weekend. You're a guy on the rebound, you know? Once the ladies find out that you're taking numbers, you're gonna be swamped. I tell you, I give you two weeks with Oakdale's lovelies and you're gonna be like, 'Katie who?' You won't even notice that she's not around," predicts Henry. "What do you mean? Why wouldn't she be around?" asks BJ. "I mean -- I mean, she's not going to be seeing you anymore," says Henry. BJ asks why and Henry answers, "Well, because you locked her up in a room with a disco ball and you tore the straps to her dress -- I don't think she's going to get past that." "But, that was my dress -- I bought it. I don't know, I guess I got a little carried away. But I didn't mean her any harm. I mean, really, I was down on bended knee, and -- I guess I read the signs wrong. Whatever, I'm a jerk," admits BJ. "I didn't say that," says Henry. "You don't have to -- I did. But, you know what, Henry?" asks BJ. "What's that?" wonders Henry. "Rome wasn't built in a day," smiles BJ. Maddie and Henry are alone again. "Did you see what she looked like when she came in here tonight?" asks Maddie. "Yeah, and you know what, she's home now, and big, strong Mike is wiping away all those tears. And she's fine, and so are we. B.J.'s a pussycat," says Henry. "He's psycho!" says Maddie. "Fine. Fine, Maddie, you know what? I'll quit. And I'll kick the man when he's down. And then I'll move back into the limo, is that all right with you?" yells Henry. "Listen, all I am saying..." "I'm not saying that I trust the man. I am saying, you know, it's a job. It's a good job. And until I find a better one, it's gonna have to do for us. Get your stuff together, all right, and we'll go over to Tom and Margo's," says Henry. Today’s episode was directed by Jennifer Pepperman and written by Elizabeth Page.
