Henry tries to visit Katie at the hospital but instead runs into her over-protective brother Craig.  Later he runs into Barbara in Oldtown, who tries to convince him that he's not a bad guy and it's not his fault that Brad died.  He finally catches up with Katie, who tells him she never wants to see him again.  He ends up at the Lakeview Lounge where he orders a martini and a beer and toasts to his old friend Brad.  Barbara sees him there and sits with him.

Today’s episode was directed by Maria Wagner and written by David A. Levinson.

Craig: What the hell are you doing?

Henry: I'm here to see Katie.

Craig: You think she wants to see you now?

Henry: I'm her friend. I want to be there for her.

Craig: You're her friend?

Henry: I'm her best friend. That hasn't changed.

Craig: Henry, wake up! Everything has changed.

Henry: Would you be careful with those, please?

Craig: Are you the only one here who really doesn't get that you're the reason she's in that room? You're the reason her husband is dead. All of this is your fault.

Craig: You're the one who brought Ralph Manzo here. You're the one who brought him into our lives. You're the one who set this whole thing in motion.

Henry: I know, I know. I don't deny that. I messed up. I -- I more than messed up, all right? But give me a chance here.

Craig: To do what, make it up, make things right? You think flowers are gonna do that? Just get the hell out of here.

Rosanna: Henry, we know that you feel bad, okay? We all feel bad. But you cannot force Katie to forgive you.

Henry: I wouldn't do that. Would you at least tell her I was here, please?

Craig: I wouldn't count on it.

Henry: I know it sounds like I'm feeling sorry for myself. I'm not, okay?

Barbara: You lost a friend. It hurts.

Henry: I'm afraid I may have lost two. [Sighs] Oh, my god. I just -- I wish there was something I could do for Katie.

Barbara: Like what?

Henry: Off the top of my head, I don't know. I don't know. Uh, if I still had my inheritance, I could -- I could, um, establish a trust fund for the baby. I could make sure he got a good college education and a comfortable life. [Sighs] I gave all of my money to my mother to get rid of her.

Barbara: Oh, my god. You don't know, do you?

Henry: Know what?

Barbara: Well, your -- your mom -- she's gone, yes. But she didn't get away with the money.

Henry: What?

Barbara: No. Uh, the -- the short version is I got it all back.

Henry: You have it?

Barbara: Yes. I'm sure she's not very happy about that.

Henry: Yeah. That's -- that's too bad for her. Barbara, if you've got the money, then I can use it to help Katie.

Barbara: Henry, there's -- there's more to it than that. Evidently, there was some kind of error in the construction of James' second will.

Henry: What kind of error?

Barbara: I don't know what kind of error, but -- but the upshot of it is, is that the original will was deemed to be legally viable.

Henry: The one that made Paul the sole heir?

Barbara: Mm-hmm.

Henry: Are you telling me that I put everyone though everything that I put through for money that wasn't actually mine?

Barbara: I know there's nothing I can say to console you.

Henry: To console me?! Barbara, you just ripped out what little is left of my heart, okay? Oh, god.

Barbara: There's nothing that that money could do to help Katie with the pain she's going through. She lost her husband. You can't put a price tag on that.

Henry: Apparently, I did, and I'm gonna have to pay for it for the rest of my life.

Barbara: You are not nearly as horrible a person as you think you are.

Henry: Compared to whom? My father? Okay, that guy was a master at destroying people's lives, too.

Barbara: I'll tell you something. I have more malice in this little pinky than you have in your entire body. I mean, after all, it didn't take me much to be goaded into telling Vienna about our affair.

Henry: No, it didn't. But you didn't hesitate to give me the money when you thought Katie's life was in danger.

Barbara: Because I owed you. You saved my life. You stopped me from drinking a lethal concoction of your mother's.

Henry: You don't blame me for what my mother tried to do?

Barbara: No. Here's how I see it. You are accountable for some things.

Henry: So the answer is yes.

Barbara: But you didn't put the poison in that drink, and you didn't fire the shot that killed Brad. Do you hear what I'm saying?

Henry: I do. Thank you.

Barbara: Where are you going?

Henry: [Sighs] I'm gonna go see Katie.

[Knock on door]

Henry: Hey, bubbles.

Katie: Go away, Henry. I have nothing to say to you.

Henry: I know you're angry, and I don't blame you, and I know you're gonna be upset for a really long time.

Katie: Upset? Like you scratched my car or broke my watch? I'm a little more than upset. I'm never gonna have my husband again because of you. My son is never gonna meet his father, and you did this.

Henry: I know, I know. Just tell me what to say. Tell me what I can do to make this up --

Katie: There's nothing -- there's nothing to say. It's too late. This is the way it's gonna be from now on. You know what? I do want to know why though. Why did this happen? Because of some stupid inheritance? 'Cause you wanted to be rich and retire?

Henry: No, no, no, no. It wasn't like that. It wasn't like that.

Katie: I know it wasn't, because you told me and I told you to go to the police.

Henry: I know you -- and I wish I had listened to you!

Katie: I wish you had, too. 'Cause it wasn't enough to cheat on Vienna and break her heart, but you had to ruin my life, too, and Brad? What about Brad? He was your friend!

Henry: I know. Katie, I know, and you're my friend, too. You're my best friend. Nothing's ever gonna change that.

Katie: How many times do you expect the people you love to get hurt by you and have to forgive you over and over?

Henry: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I've been given more chances than I deserve.

Katie: Oh, poor Henry!

Henry: That's not what I meant. That's not what I meant. Please, please, okay? I never meant for any of this to happen. You've got to believe me.

Katie: You know what I believe? I believe you're selfish, and you're weak, and thank god Vienna got rid of you before you killed her by accident, too!

Henry: Katie --

Katie: Don't! I don't ever want to see you again.

[Henry sighs]
