Katie is being held by Ralph and is hallucinating her friends to help her through it.  Meanwhile, Henry has gotten the check with help from Barbara and gives it to Ralph, who promises to let Katie go.  Brad has planned a surprise baby shower so everyone is waiting for her at Brad and Katie's house.  When she doesn't show up, Henry finds Ralph who tells him that he's lost her and is unable to find her.  So Henry decides it's time to ask Margo for help.

Today’s episode was directed by Michael Eilbaum and written by Susan Dansby.

[Katie exhales sharply]

Katie: Okay, baby. Bad news. We have definitely been left alone in the middle of nowhere, and we need to come up with a plan. You're being kind of quiet. I'm not asking for a lot. Just a little encouragement, please. You know, I was a cheerleader. You can be a cheerleader, too. Don't tell your dad I said that. Okay. [Katie exhales sharply] I need to think. Oh, if someone would just help me figure this out!

Henry: Bubbles? Can I help?

Katie: Henry, can you help? Yeah, you can help. I wouldn't even be in this situation if you hadn't let yourself get involved with a mobster. What were you thinking?! Now you get me into this mess! So yeah, you can figure out a way to help me and my baby get out of it!

Henry: Where's Katie? Uh, yeah, well, it's only natural you would want to know where your wife is.

Ralph: You're married to Katie? Cute girl. I'm Ralph Manzo.

Brad: Yeah, hey, Brad Snyder. I'm sorry. Nice to meet you.

Ralph: Yeah, yeah.

Brad: So, uh, where is she?

Henry: Uh, ladies room. Uh, which means you better get out of here before she spies you and spoils the whole surprise.

Brad: You know, it's okay. I don't have the cake yet. You know, I'm -- I'm throwing a surprise shower for my wife. You know, so don't let the cat out when she comes back.

Ralph: Your wife's pregnant?

Brad: Yeah, what, you didn't notice?

Ralph: No, she was wearing a big coat.

Brad: Oh.

[Brad laughs] Oh, man. I can't wait to tell -- that's gonna make her feel really good. Yeah, yeah, we're gonna have a baby soon.

Ralph: Yeah. Baby on the way. Oh, that's fantastic. That really is. You're gonna have to give her extra-special care for the little lady.

Brad: You better believe it. Uh, so just make sure you get her out of here as soon as she gets back so she doesn't see the cake.

Henry: All right. You got it, you got it.

Brad: And you know what? You know, uh -- you're welcome to come. You want to come to the baby shower, you can come. I mean, any friend of Henry's is a friend of ours.

Ralph: Oh, thanks very much for the invite, but I do have some business to do. I -- I've got to deliver a package. And Henry here is nice enough to help me with it.

Brad: Oh, man. I'm so -- that's -- you know, I'm really sorry. That's the business Katie was talking about.

Henry: It's -- it's okay. We're almost done. We're almost done.

Brad: I got an idea. When she comes back, I'll keep her occupied. You take the cake and bring it to the house. And, you know, that way, if I bring her home, she'll never suspect a party, so she'll be super-extra surprised. How's that for a great idea?

Henry: No.

Henry: I -- I just think it would be better to stick to the original plan.

Brad: Why?

Henry: Why?

Brad: Why?

Henry: Because Katie thinks it's her mission in life to save me from depression. And with Vienna gone, if I just took off --

Brad: You know, yeah. You're right, you're right. No, no, no, you're right, you're right. You know, she, uh -- she'll worry. She'll worry.

Henry: Yeah.

Brad: Smart. Okay, so just make sure you call me when you two get close so I get enough time to set everything up to say -- you know, yell, "surprise!"

Henry: I will give you plenty of time. You better get out of here before she comes out.

Brad: Okay. Hey, nice to meet you.

Ralph: Yeah, you too.

Brad: Remember, you know, hey, baby shower. You know, it's -- well, you know what I mean. All right.

Henry: Where is she?

Ralph: Where's the money?

Henry: It's in my pocket. But you don't see it until I see Katie.

Ralph: That's not the way it works. Money first, girl after.

Henry: No. You -- listen. You listen to me, uncle Ralphie. I -- I have played along with you long enough, okay? I've given into your threats, and I've jumped through hoops. I'm not gonna do that anymore. You won't even look at the check until I have Katie in front of me.

Henry: I am tired of you running the show. It -- it's my turn to call the shots.

Ralph: That's an unfortunate choice of words when your friend's life is at stake.

Henry: No. You couldn't do that. You wouldn't do that. Katie is an innocent bystander, okay? You can't -- you can't kill her, all right? You can't.

Ralph: I won't kill her if you give me the money.

Henry: Wait a second. Wait. H -- how do I know you're not gonna pull another dirty trick?

Ralph: Because I'm a man of my word.

Henry: How do I know that?

Ralph: How many times have I threatened you?

Henry: Too many?

Ralph: How many times have I come through?

Henry: Always.

Ralph: So you give me the money, I give you the girl. A deal's a deal.

Henry: How does this work? How and when do I get Katie back?

Ralph: I check with the bank. If the check is good, I release the girl. Nice doing business with you.

Henry: Yeah, I wish I could say the same thing.

Ralph: Well, why don't you go on to the party now. The guest of honor will be there shortly.

Henry: She better be, Ralph.

Katie: I've been abandoned here with no food, nothing to drink. It's hot as hell in here. Nobody knows where I am, and I miss Brad. I miss him so much.

Henry: Is the whining helping?

Katie: Don't you make fun of me, Henry. Don't you dare.

Henry: It's not like you're tied to a burning stake here, Katie. We've been through worse than this! Come on! We survived that deserted island and all the plots and the schemes and the murder threats. Instead of yelling at me, why don't you use that energy to figure out a way to get out of this place?

Katie: Thanks. You've been a great help. No. [Katie sighs] Maybe there's something up there I can use. Yes. I can just hoist my pregnant self up there.

[Katie groans]

All: Surprise!

Henry: Ah.

Brad: Why -- why didn't you call me before you got here? Where's Katie?

Henry: Uh, she should be right behind me.

Margo: Yeah, she should be.

Henry: Yeah. [Stammers] Don't worry. I did everything I was supposed to do to get her here, and she should be coming in any second.

Brad: Did you give Katie a specific time to show up?

Henry: Of course I did! But you know her. She's -- she's on Katie time. She probably stopped to pet a puppy or something.

Craig: Brad, maybe you should call her.

Henry: No, no, no, no. And ruin the surprise? No, no, no, no. We should go on with the party. When she gets here, she's gonna want to see us all having a lot of fun. So, uh, I say we have a drink or two while we wait.

Brad: Well, since Katie can't drink anyway, uh, I went ahead and opened up some champagne.

Henry: Great. I'll have one of those. [Chuckles]

Brad: Here we go.

Margo: Thank you.

Craig: Thank you.

Henry: Can I have a refill?

Brad: In a minute. I was -- I was gonna give a toast.

Henry: Well, that's all the more reason to give me some more champagne.

Brad: I was gonna give a toast to you, knucklehead. You know, it's bad luck to drink to yourself.

Henry: A toasty to me? Why?

Craig: That's an excellent question.

Brad: When my wife gets here, I'll give a toast to her. In the meanwhile, I want to toast to her best friend. You two -- you've had your ups and downs, but you've stuck by her always until the end, no matter what hard times you've been going through.

Henry: Yeah, you're, uh, really embarrassing me here.

Brad: No, you know? It's -- it's the truth. It's the truth. When I married Katie, okay, you became one of my good friends. And I know that when little junior is born, there's no one he's gonna be able to count on more than uncle Henry. All right? To uncle Henry.

All: To Henry.

Henry: Any sign of Katie?

Brad: Not yet. I'd better call her.

Brad: She's not picking up her phone.

Henry: Uh, well, she -- she probably just turned it off and forgot to turn it back on again. I do that all the time. I'm sure she'll be here soon.

Brad: Really? You're sure? Then where is she?

Margo: There's still no word from Katie?

Brad: No. I want to know exactly where you left her and exactly what did she say.

Margo: All right. Just calm down, Brad.

Brad: No. Why the hell didn't you bring her back here like you said you would?

Henry: Uh, I was hoping, uh -- I think I made a mistake.

Brad: What mistake?

Margo: Henry, what did you do?

Henry: Uh, instead of getting a baby gift, a got a gift certificate to the spa at the hotel. I thought she was gonna make a reservation and come right here, but I -- I think she just decided to go -- go to the spa there and then.

Brad: Why didn't you say that in the first place? I could just -- I just give a call over there right now.

Henry: No, no, no, no. Don't do that. You'll interrupt her -- her mud bath, her facial, whatever. She'll get all worried. I'll -- I'll go get her there myself. Come on.

Margo: W -- wait a minute. What if she's not there?

Henry: Where else would she be?

Margo: Why don't I go with you?

Henry: No, no, no, no, no, no. She'll be so disappointed if she found out that we had a big surprise party and she missed it. Let -- let me go.

Brad: Okay, okay, okay. Jack and Janet -- you know, they're late. They're not here anyway. So okay, why don't you go get Katie. You'll get back, and then they'll be here, and then we can still have the party.

Henry: That's what I'm talking about, all right?! So don't cut that cake until I'm back with the guest of honor.

Henry: Where's Katie?

Ralph: I told you it had been taken care of, and it has been.

Henry: No, no. You -- you said that she would -- she would be home right after I left here. That was over an hour ago. Where is she?

Ralph: It's none of your business. And watch how you talk to me.

Henry: Wait a second. You don't even know where she is.

Ralph: There's been a small snafu.

Henry: Son of a bitch! You said she'd be all right!

Ralph: I told you. That's the last time you ever put your hands on me. What are you doing? Give me that check back!

Henry: No, no. You got to make sure Katie's safe, okay? You better make sure she's all right, Ralph.

Ralph: You're a dead man.

Henry: No, no, no. You better stop making threats and put all your energy into finding her. Because I swear to you, if she doesn't come home safe, I will take you out!

Henry: Hello. Brad?

Margo: Uh, hi. He had to take care of something with liberty. But, um, where's Katie? Wasn't she supposed to come back with you?

Henry: Yeah, she was. Uh, things got all messed up.

Margo: Henry -- where is my sister? Henry, what happened to Katie?

Henry: She's in real trouble.
