Thursday, October 3, 2002 Simon and Henry are in the Lakeview lounge and Paul comes in, apologizing for being late. He was with Will at the hospital, but now he's ready to watch the tape from Travers' apartment. "Don't be getting out the popcorn just yet, mate," says Simon. He tells him the bad news, that Travers found the bug in his hotel suite. Paul asks about the camera in his apartment, and Henry assures him that that's still safe. But Bonnie told them to shut down the operation. Paul says he can't do that, the election is today so it's his last chance to stop Travers from getting elected and allowing James Stenbeck to work through him. He leaves to go check out the tape. Simon and Henry plan to go to Travers' apartment and remove the equipment after Paul has some time to watch the tape. They're about to leave when Katie walks into the lounge. They're both surprised to see her there since she's still recovering from her surgery. She tells them it's too boring at home and she's sick of being on bed rest. Simon orders her to go home, but she again complains that it's boring. "You are recuperating, that's why you're so bored. You're supposed to be bored," explains Henry. Katie complains that it's not fair that she's stuck at home growing a liver when they're out having fun adventures. Simon suggests she go home and grow some patience. She ignores him and asks, "What's next on our agenda?" "Prison!" answers Henry. "No one's going to jail, Henry," says Katie. She explains to them that they need to learn to expect idle threats when they're in this business. They just need to cover their tracks better next time. "Next time?" wonders Simon. Katie says that while she's been recuperating she's had a lot of time to think, she's had an epiphany. "Epiphany? That's a three dollar word. I didn't know you knew that one, Katie," says Henry sarcastically. Katie goes on to explain to Simon that she thinks they should open a business, "Frasier and Frasier, Private Investigators." She asks him what he thinks, and he says he likes the idea. Katie says they can work for the police, for Tom, even private clients. It's just what they and Oakdale need, they'll be the two best investigators around. "Two? What about me?" asks Henry. "You know what they say, three's a crowd, Henry," says Katie at the same time that Simon says, "Welcome aboard, Henry." Henry looks pleased, but Katie does not. "Bless you, bless you for your intelligence and your insight," says Henry to his new partners. He says he'd be honored to work with them, anything to keep him away from Lucinda! "Simon, sweetheart, love of mine, don't you recall?" explains Katie patiently. "Despite my inexplicable fondness for our Henry here, he's an accident waiting to happen." Simon agrees that he can be a loose cannon, a handful. Katie asks Simon if he trusts Henry, and Simon answers that three months ago he would have said no. Even now he doesn't entirely trust him. "You guys keep doing this to me," interrupts Henry, who is sitting between the two while they're having their discussion. "Do I have to send up a flare here? I'm still in the room, show me a little respect, just a little bit." Just then Bonnie rushes in looking for Paul. Simon tells her he needed an hour or so to tie up loose ends before they removed the equipment. Bonnie insists that he needs to do it now, and rushes out to find him. The three future P.I.s continue their conversation. Simon says he hates to admit it, but Henry has been an amazing help. "This time," adds Katie. Simon explains that Henry knows if he slips up he'll be sent back to Lucinda. Henry agrees, saying that's a great reason for him to be on his best behavior. "Honey, with your instincts and good looks, Henry's technical experience and my know-how, we could make a dynamite combination," says Simon. Katie agrees that it would be explosive. Simon asks Henry what he thinks of the idea, and Henry says that "Coleman, Frasier, and Frasier" has a nice ring to it. "Frasier, Frasier, and Coleman," corrects Katie. The three shake hands to seal the deal while Simon whispers in Henry's ear that if he slips up just once, if he disappoints them, he'll wish he never met him! Henry nods in agreement. Today’s episode was directed by Joseph Cotungno and written by Lynn Martin.
