Wednesday, September 17, 2003 Henry shows up for the second time this week, this time running a scheme for Paul, with whom he worked when bugging Marshall Travers' room. After having a nice conversation with Jennifer about how he was going to let her run her own life, Paul makes a phone call. "Hey, it's Paul Ryan. Yeah, it's been a while. Listen, I might have a job for you." As always when something underhanded is involved, it's our Henry on the other end of the line. In the next scene he shows up at Paul's door, wearing his usual suit and tie. "Hey Henry, thanks for coming by," says Paul as he opens the door to him. "The last time I saw you Lucinda Walsh was throwing you over her shoulder and dragging you out of the bachelor auction," says Paul, laughing. "She's a hard girl to resist. I do make a point of not giving in until the police are called," explains Henry. Paul says he tries to avoid the police. "No more than me," says Henry. Paul asks Henry if he's still an electronics whiz. Henry says he keeps his hand in it. Paul tells him he might have a job for him and asks if he's interested. "Depends," says Henry. "I'll make it worth your while," says Paul. "But first I have to ask you one question. How do you feel about Dusty Donovan?" "Dusty Donovan," muses Henry. "You should hear Lucinda on the subject. According to her he's responsible for Lily and Rose being thrown down that well." "And according to you?" prompts Paul. "I've gone a few rounds with Rose," says Henry. "But that Lily, I'm very fond of Lily. She's... interceded I think is how you would put it, when Lucinda got a little carried away." "Would you be averse to undermining Dusty?" ask Paul. "He could stand to be knocked down a peg," says Henry. "What do you need, Paul?" Paul explains that he needs Henry to bug Java Underground. "The front room, the back room, the phone, the works. I need to hear everything that's said in his new club." Paul asks Henry if he can do that, and Henry answers, "Sure," cracking a smile for the first time. "Really? Great!" says Paul happily. Today’s episode was directed by Michael Eilbaum and written by Elizabeth Page.
Transcripts from TVMegasite Paul: Hey, it's Paul Ryan. Yeah, it's been awhile. Listen, I might have a job for you.
Paul: Hey, Henry. Thanks for coming by. Last time I saw you, Lucinda Walsh was throwing you over her shoulder, dragging you out of the bachelor's auction. Henry: Well -- well, you know Lucinda. She's a hard girl to resist. But I do make a point of not giving in until the police are called. Paul: Yeah, I try to avoid the police. Henry: Well, no more than me. Paul: So are you still an electronics whiz? Henry: I keep my hand in it. Paul: I might have a job for you. You interested? Henry: Well, that depends. Paul: I'd make it worth your while. But, listen, before I lay it all out for you, I gotta know something -- how do you feel about Dusty Donovan?
Henry: Dusty Donovan. Well, you should hear Lucinda on the subject. According to her, he's responsible for lily and rose being thrown down that well. Paul: Right. What about according to you? Henry: I've gone a few rounds with rose, but Lily -- I'm very fond of her. I'm very fond of Lily. She has -- interceded -- I think is how you would put it -- when Lucinda has gotten a little carried away. Paul: So you wouldn't be averse to undermining Dusty? Henry: He could stand to be knocked down a peg. What do you need, Paul? Paul: I need for you to bug the java underground. The rooms, the back rooms, the phones, the works. I want to hear everything that gets said in Dusty's new club. Can you do that? Henry: Sure. Paul: Really? Great.
