Monday, September 15, 2003 Henry shows up about half-way through the show today when Chris and Alison ask if they can use the cottage as their love shack. Henry agrees, with a little monetary encouragement. Chris and Alison go to Mabel's on their date and discuss where they can go to be alone. They both live with their parents (presumably), and since Alison has returned the key to the cottage and motels are "icky," they seem to be out of luck. "Maybe not," says Chris mysteriously. One deleted scene later, Henry has shown up at Mabel's dressed in a casual plaid shirt. He seems to have just asked Alison (who is facing him but off screen) why she wanted to talk to him. "Actually, I was the one who wanted to talk to you," says Chris, putting a hand on Henry's shoulder and acting all chummy with him. "I was hoping you would be nice enough to let us go back to the cottage... alone... together... say, tonight." Alison assures him it would just be a few hours. "You want me to let you use my humble, innocent little cottage for sex?" asks Henry in disbelief. "No, no, no, no, absolutely not. It's out of the question. In fact, I'm shocked, shocked, frankly, that you think I would lower myself to let you and jailbait over here..." Chris offers Henry a hundred dollars (which I'm thinking would buy a fairly decent hotel room in suburban Illinois). "On the other hand," says Henry, "I've always been a believer in true love, it's just what I live for. I give you three hours, not a minute more." Excited, Alison runs to him giggling and hugs him. He fake giggles and pushes her away, saying, "Anything for a friend." Unfortunately Chris and Alison's little tryst is delayed when Alison insists on checking in on her mom, and they find alcohol in Susan's purse. Today’s episode was directed by Habib Azar and written by Judy Tate.
Transcripts from TVMegasite Chris: Actually, I'm the one that wanted to talk to you. Henry: Really? Chris: Yeah, see, uh, I was hoping that you'd be nice enough to let us go back to the cottage. Alone together. Say, tonight? Alison: For just a few hours. Henry: You want me to let you use my humble, innocent little cottage for sex? No. No, no, no, no, absolutely not. It's out of the question. In fact, I am shocked, shocked frankly that you think I would lower myself so that you and the jailbait over here -- Chris: There's $100 in it for you. Henry: Of course, on the other hand, you know, I've always been a believer in true love. It's just what I live for. I'll give you three hours, not a minute more. Alison: Thank you, Henry, thank you. Henry: All right. Anything for a friend. Alison: You genius. Chris: Come on. I cannot wait another second to be alone with you. Alison: Wait, wait, wait. Can we just stop back at my house? I just want Alison -- Alison: No, just for a few minutes. I just want to make sure she's okay.
