Wednesday, September 3, 2003 There's a bachelor auction in Oakdale to benefit breast cancer research, and Henry's on the auction block. Guess who the lucky winner is! The guests have all arrived at Rosie's Roller Palace to bid on their favorite eligible men of Oakdale. Mitzi lets the bachelors out of the back room, including Paul, Walker, Aaron, and Henry. Henry is in a formal tux and looking nervous and unhappy. Mitzi tells them if they get stage fright, to just remember it's for a good cause. She assures them that they'll love it, and the ladies will too! Henry is pacing nervously backstage as the other men are being auctioned off. First Rosanna "buys" Paul for $5000, and Nancy "buys" Walker for an undisclosed amount (to thank him for helping to save her son's life). Lucinda, the emcee, announces the next bachelor up for bids. "For those of you who appreciate a young gentleman of class and integrity, the next bachelor is going to be a serious disappointment. He's dishonest and he's lazy! I don't know what he's doing here. Somehow he got an invitation and we're stuck with him. So this one, you do not have to applaud this one. Henry, come on out!" Henry nonchalantly strolls out on the stage and hits his head on the decorations. "Thank you, Ms. Walsh, your kind words will always have a place in my heart." "I didn't know you had a heart!" says Lucinda. She says the bidding is starting at $10,000, and when no one offers anything, she calls out, "Going once, going twice, sold! Wasn't I right about him?" Looking pleased that he got the top price so far, Henry asks who the lucky lady is. "I am, Henry. Tonight, you belong to me," says Lucinda devilishly. Horror-stricken, Henry cries out, "No, no, no, no, no!" He leaps over the banister in front of the stage and runs off across the room as everyone laughs. Henry is hiding behind a couch, drinking champagne. He calls his roomie Alison over, "Alison! Alison! Get over here! Hi, honey, listen, I'm not going to be home tonight. I need to find a place where I can lay low. Somewhere I can't be easily found." "You're not going to bail on your date with Ms. Walsh, are you?" asks Ally. "Listen Alison, my reputation here is shot already, all right? I've got nothing to lose." Today’s episode was directed by Ellen Wheeler and written by Craig Heller.
Transcripts from TVMegasite Mitzi: Right this way, gents. We got to keep you under wraps until the auction begins. And so are the ladies.
