Thursday, July 21, 2005 It's a sad day in Oakdale, as Jen and her family are saying good-bye to her baby (or so everyone believes). Katie can't help showing up to see if Mike is OK, but no one else wants her there. Henry still knows and cares for his (soon to be ex) wife, so he shows up to help her out. Dusty is arguing with Katie outside the church when Henry appears in his limo driver uniform and says, "Your limo awaits, madame." "Henry, what are you doing here?" asks Katie. "Well, some people know quantum physics. I know human nature. Come on, let's go," he says. "Why are you rescuing me?" asks Katie. "Old habits die hard. Shall we?" smiles Henry. Henry delivers Katie a cup of coffee at Java. "Here you go, sweetheart. Drown your sorrows," he says. "You don't hate me?" asks Katie. "That's not possible, Bubbles. Now, Dusty, on the other hand, seems to have no trouble," observes Henry. "He blames me for Jen losing her baby," explains Katie. "Yeah, well, that's the buzz," says Henry. "Do you still have this town wired?" asks Katie. "Bars and limos, baby, bars and limos. They're the best places to get the dirt," smiles Henry. "It's kind of true," admits Katie. "What, are we looking to Dusty for the truth now? Come on," says Henry. "Mike and I were together in Chicago," says Katie. "Yeah, yeah, okay. Now, spare me the visuals on that, all right?" grimaces Henry. "So Jen found out," says Katie. "And then, what, went into premature labor?" asks Henry. "No. She went to her mother's cabin and fell off a chair or something," replies Katie. "Did you pull the chair out from underneath her?" asks Henry. Katie says no. Henry asks if her if she tripped Jen, and again she says no. "Did you cause her bodily harm?" asks Henry. Katie says no. "Then how, please tell me, how it is your fault?" asks Henry. "You know how," says Katie. "What? Why, because you lied to yourself about being over Mike? Because you tried to make it work with me? Because you convinced yourself that you and Mike and Jen could all be friends?" asks Henry. "No, because I slept with a pregnant woman's husband. Get it, Henry? I'm a rat," says Katie. "Katie, this town is full of rats. You -- you slept with Mike. And then Jen slept with Craig. I hear that Emily's making music with Paul, and Barbara would sleep with anybody, but no one's made her an offer," jokes Henry. "Don't make me laugh," says Katie. "See, that's what -- that's what I'm here to do," smiles Henry. "Well, speaking of rodents. Not that Snickers' a rodent, but we should probably figure out what to do about him. I think he needs both of us in his life," says Katie. "Shared custody?" suggests Henry. "Yeah. I'll keep him in carrots if you'll come visit him every once in a while," offers Katie. "How can I refuse?" replies Henry. "I'm so glad you're home, Henry," sighs Katie. "Feels like I never left, baby," smiles Henry. Today’s episode was directed by Michael Eilbaum and written by Judith Donato.
