Monday, June 27, 2005 It's a hot night in Oakdale and strange things are happening. Katie is at the gym alone, and the air conditioner is broken. Suddenly the lights go out. She checks the circuit board and hears a strange noise behind her. She sees someone coming and runs away screaming. "Katie -- Katie! Hey. It's me. Hey," says Henry, stopping her. "Henry, what are you doing? You scared me to death!" cries Katie. "Baby, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Here let me get some lights on, okay?" says Henry, flipping the circuit. "I'm sorry. Oh, man, no wonder it's so hot in here. The AC breaker's tripped, as well," he says, fixing it. "Oh, I thought it was broken," says Katie. "Ah! Aren't you glad I showed up, then?" asks Henry. "Except for the fact that you scared me to half to death. What is this, some sort of revenge plot or something?" asks Katie. "What are you talking about?" says Henry. "Well, first you sneak in here and scare me to death. And you left me stranded at the hotel in Chicago the other night," accuses Katie. "No, I'm not -- I'm not trying to get back at you here," says Henry. "Then why did you run away? The room was beautiful," says Katie. "Thank Mike for that. Not me. Maybe you thanked him already," says Henry. "Oh, Henry, when are you gonna get it? I didn't want Mike. I don't want him now. I won't want him tomorrow," insists Katie. "No kidding. That's funny, 'cause, you know, everything except what comes out of your mouth seems to say the opposite," says Henry, picking up a poster of Mike that Katie had been looking at. He hands Katie a manila envelope he had been carrying. Katie asks him what it is. "It's the reason why I'm here," says Henry. "Divorce papers?" asks Katie. "Don't pretend surprise, and don't stumble over some phony attempt to say this isn't the right thing to do. Okay? Let's not even have that scene," says Henry. "What if it's the right scene to have?" asks Katie. "It's not. You know it's not. The right scene is for me to say good-bye and good luck. Good-bye and good luck. I hope you finally get what you really want," says Henry sadly. "I want you," says Katie. "No more pretending that's true, okay? I wish you nothing but the best," says Henry, kissing her on the cheek. "Always." Henry leaves the papers with Katie and walks out the door. Katie drops to the floor and holds her head in her hands. Today’s episode was directed by Christopher Goutman and written by Josh Griffith.
