Monday, May 30, 2005 Katie and Alison are attempting to trick Henry into seeing Katie, and it's working. Ally and Henry are sitting at the bar at the Lakeview Lounge and she has just given him a letter, supposedly from Ivy. Henry threw it away, suspecting Katie. "Come on, Alison. Out with it," says Henry. "Out with what?" Alison asks innocently, as Katie listens from behind a magazine. "Why are you so gung-ho to have me hook up with a woman you don't even know?" demands Henry. "This isn't about me. It's about you. This Ivy chick -- she sent you a letter asking you to join her. It would be totally rude of you to just blow her off," says Alison. "Okay. I'll send this 'Ivy chick' flowers and a letter of apology. But I'm just not interested," sighs Henry. "Because of Katie?" asks Alison. "Brilliant. Give the girl a gold star," jokes Henry. "Okay, well, if you're still hung up on Katie, then what's the big deal? Just pick up a phone," suggests Alison. "Katie and I are finished, okay?" snaps Henry. "Great. Then what's the problem? You could spend some time with Ivy. Just pick up the paper and reclaim your life, Henry. You owe it to yourself. Just do it," urges Alison. Henry sighs and picks up the letter. Henry is upstairs in the hotel and slowly approaches a door. He turns around and walks away, then goes back to the door and knocks. A voice from within calls out, "It's open." Henry hesitates, then goes in. "Look, Ivy, I don't think this is such a good idea. I'm really sorry," says Henry. He stops when he realizes it's not Ivy, it's Katie, lying on the bed dressed in a red negligee. "You were saying?" smiles Katie. Henry slowly walks into the room, and when he can speak, says, "No. This -- this is not happening, okay? Not today. This is not happening any time in the future. No, all right?" He turns to walk to the door but Katie runs past him and shuts it. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey. If you think I'm gonna let you go, you don't know me as well as you think," she says. "You can't leave me. I'm lost without you, Henry. Worse than lost. Life's not worth living without you there," says Katie. She kisses him and this time, Henry doesn't push her away. "I'm yours. I'm your wife. Make love to me, Henry," says Katie softly. Henry picks her up and carries her to the bed. "Oh, I knew you couldn't stay away. You want me. You love me," says Katie. "Of course, I love you. I've always loved you. I've always, always wanted you. Always," says Henry, taking off his jacket and shirt. "And, there's nothing standing in our way, now. We can make things right, starting now," says Katie. But Henry pulls away. "No. No," he says. "No?" asks Katie. "No. I know it's what you want. I know it's what we both want, okay? But, I -- I just -- I need more than this, Katie," says Henry, putting his shirt back on. "Well, whatever you want, it's yours," says Katie. "I need more than just your body and a couple of unforgettable hours in bed. I need -- I need your -- honey, I need your heart, and your mind, and your soul. Without those things, this is -- it's worthless, okay? Your heart and soul belong to another man," says Henry, picking up his jacket. "Wait, don't you see what you're doing? You're not giving us the time to grow. We have so much potential, Henry. We haven't even scratched the surface yet. Please do not walk away from this. Don't walk away from our marriage, please. I love you so much," begs Katie tearfully. "If you love me, you'll let me go. Let me go. Let this end," says Henry, leaving her. Meanwhile, the happy honeymooners have returned home, and Jen has sent Mike out to get some food. He runs into Henry at the Lakeview Lounge. "Hey, Henry. What's up, man? Whoa. I haven't seen you in awhile, man. We've been on the honeymoon," says Mike. "That's great," snaps Henry. "What's up? Is everything okay?" asks Mike. "Couldn't be worse if I had the plague, Mike. But thank you for asking, really," says Henry. "What's the problem?" asks Mike. "I don't know, my marriage is circling the drain to begin with," answers Henry. "Why?" asks clueless Mike. "Why? You have the nerve to ask me why? I worship the air that she breathes, my life began when we got married, and Katie is still madly in love with you, Mike!" cries Henry. "Henry, Katie and I have been over a long time," Mike assures him. "Are you saying that to convince me or to convince yourself?" asks Henry. Mike doesn't respond, and Henry says, "She's in room 707. She's all yours." Henry storms out, and Mike goes upstairs to Katie's room. He knocks on the door, and Katie thinks it's Henry. She runs to the door and opens it. "Oh, Henry, I knew you'd come back. Henry, I..." she stops when she sees it's Mike, and he's shocked to see how she's dressed. "What are you doing here?" asks Katie. "I ran into Henry downstairs," says Mike. "What did he say?" asks Katie. "He said you two are in trouble. He said the marriage was over. I know how Henry exaggerates, so I..." says Mike. "No, no. No exaggeration here. He left me. He left me," sighs Katie, going into the room and putting on her robe. Mike asks her what happened, and Katie says, "You. He knows that I still love you. Even though I'm trying so hard not to, because it's wrong. Mike, I know it's wrong and I have to stop. And, you know what? If there was a pill or a patch or something, I would be the first in line for it. 'Cause the last thing in the world I wanted to do was hurt Henry or our marriage." "Well, then you have to make him understand that," says Mike. "I've tried. But your wedding was the last straw. And I don't blame him. I should have just stayed away. I should have stayed with Henry and gotten on that plane. We were on our way to Hawaii," explains Katie. "I asked you after the wedding, and you sort of avoided the issue," says Mike. "Asked me what?" asks Katie. "Well, when you showed up late to the ceremony..." begins Mike. "I don't want to talk about that," says Katie. "No, no, no. I need to know this. Were you -- were you going to try to stop us from getting married?" asks Mike. "Honestly? The thought crossed my mind a couple hundred times. But what I told you that day was the truth. I know how much you love Jennifer -- how happy she makes you, and happy you make her, and how much she needs you. I know that because I know what it's like to be loved by you, to want to wake up next to you in the morning, to have you by my side when I go to bed at night. And however much I love Henry, I can't forget what you and I were. How much fun we had and the plans we made. How much we meant to each other. I know it's too late for us. I know that now. But -- man, it just feels like nothing is ever going to go right for me again," sighs Katie. "Oh, Katie, I..." stammers Mike. "No, no, no. Don't, I'm fine. I'm fine. You need to go home. I'm sure Jennifer's waiting for you. I will be all right," smiles Katie. "Are you sure?" asks Mike. "No. Go home. That's where you belong," says Katie. "Everything's going to work out," Mike assures her. "Whatever that means. Thank you, Mike," says Katie. After Mike leaves, Katie gets dressed and breaks down in tears. Today’s episode was directed by Habib Azar and written by Lynn Martin.
