Wednesday, February 11, 2009 Henry and Vienna go out for drinks with Brad and Katie. Katie was just told that due to her recent bone marrow donation, she shouldn't get pregnant for a while. But she shares with Vienna that she's ignoring that advice and trying to get pregnant without Brad's knowledge. Vienna takes a cue from her and tries a little trickery of her own. Henry finds out and is not happy. Today’s episode was directed by Habib Azar and written by David A Levinson.
Transcripts from TVMegasite Brad: It's so good you guys could be here. Vienna: Well, so are we. It's good to be here with friends. Henry: Yes. Out for drinks. At the club where I work. Katie: Hey, come on, we're putting money back in your pocket, you should be grateful. Vienna: Don't worry, he is. Henry: She's the one that's grateful because my money is tied to her purse. Brad: Enough. I say it's time to get this night started right. My wife, champagne? Vienna: Yes. Katie: Absolutely! Vienna: You are being so brave. It's so inspiring. Henry: Vienna, honey. Vienna: What? Katie's my friend. I just want to be supportive. Katie: Um, hi. Why do you have to be supportive of me? I'm fine. Vienna: Yes, you are fine. Katie: Am I missing something? Brad: No. Henry: No, no, the only thing you're missing, my dear, is a drink. Vienna: No, Henry told me that Brad told him that you two were trying for a baby, and you had to stop. Brad: Thank you, Henry. Henry: What did I do? Brad: I didn't want Katie to have to think about any of that stuff tonight. Katie: It's fine, you guys. Really. It's the reality of the situation. I'm not gonna hide from it. Brad: Do you know how proud I am of you? Katie: Why? Brad: Because your attitude is just so positive. The old you wouldn't have handled this the way you're handling it now. Katie: You didn't even know the old me. Vienna: Well, I did. And the old you wouldn't have handled this at all. Henry: Can we get off of Katie's ovaries? So to speak. Katie: You guys, we can talk about it. It's fine. It is no big deal. Vienna: No big deal? Now, that I find hard to believe.
Katie: I'm not denying how I feel. I have just decided to stop obsessing over things that I cannot control. Henry: That's very healthy. Brad: I agree. Henry: So you could learn a thing or two from this one. Vienna: Darling, I'm only obsessing about my love for you. Henry: Aww -- Brad: Okay, okay, break it -- break it up. My wife, she needs champagne. Henry: Your who? Your who? Your whazzit? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Vienna: I know just the bottle. Because I called ahead and had them put it on ice. Could you be a dear and go get it? Henry: For you, liebchen, the world. Vienna: And we need glasses. Can you go get some from behind the bar? Brad: Don't you have a staff for that? Vienna: Four glasses. Please? Please? Spill it. Katie: Spill what? Vienna: No, I know you, Katie. You're like a sister to me. And I were you, and I had just been told that I couldn't have a baby, I would not be sitting there with that cheerful little smile on my face. I would be devastated. Why aren't you devastated? Katie: Maybe I just choose to not believe everything I'm told. Vienna: What do you mean? Are you still trying to get pregnant? Katie? Katie: Okay, yes, I'm still trying to get pregnant. Vienna: So how come Brad is acting like you're not? Katie: Because he doesn't know. He thinks I'm still using my diaphragm, and I'm not. I threw it away. Vienna: Ohh! Oh, my god. Katie: I know, Vienna, and you cannot tell him. Vienna: How do you expect to keep Brad from finding out about this? Katie: He doesn't need to know I've stopped using birth control. Vienna: What if you get pregnant? Katie: That would be fine. These things happen all the time. No method is 100% effective. Vienna: You don't think he'll get angry? Katie: No. He'll be so excited that I'm pregnant, he won't stop to question why. Henry: Okay. Why did you two just stop talking when we showed up? Brad: Yeah, what was that about? Katie: Nothing. Henry: Don't give me that, Peretti-Snyder. I have senses, and they are tingling. Katie: Oh, you're being paranoid, Henry. Vienna: We were just having a girls' talk. Brad: Oh, yeah? What kind of girl talk? Katie: We were just talking about how lucky you two are to have us. Brad: Couldn't agree with you more.
Henry: More bubbles for Bubbles. Katie: And Bubbles thanks you. Brad: A toast, so please lift your glasses. To my beautiful, amazing wife. Katie: Aww. Brad: Hold on, hold on, I'm not done. Katie: Sorry. Brad: I love you so much. Do you know that? Katie: Brad, yeah. What? Brad: You are everything to me. And in the hard times, it's your strength and your faith in us that pulls me through. Katie: You're embarrassing me. Brad: I don't care. I don't care, and I would never want anything more than what we have and what I have with you right now. I know that everything is gonna work out for us the way it's meant to be. Katie: To the way things are meant to be. Brad: Hear, hear! Henry: Hear, hear! Vienna: Hear, hear! [Glasses clinking]
Vienna: Do you know what I want? Henry: Anything. I'm feeling very limber. Vienna: No, I want more. Henry: Want more of what? Want more of this? You want more of this? Vienna: No, no, I want more champagne. Henry: What? Vienna: You heard me. Henry: You want it, like, right now? Vienna: Desperately. Henry: Desperately? Vienna: Yes. Henry: I've never been known to turn down a desperate woman before. I'll just call room service. Vienna: No, no, no, no. I don't want to get interrupted once we get started. You should go get it -- now. Henry: Your wish is my most humble command. If the people in room 1041 ask about this, just plead ignorance and try not to hiccup. Vienna: Oh, you're too good to me. I can't wait to return the favor. Woo! Henry: Whoo.
Henry: Ohh! Ohh! I can't move. Ahh, ahh, ahh! Ooh, ooh! Vienna: That's good, it'll make it so much easier for me to have my way with you. Henry: Oh, mercy, woman. Mercy, mercy, woman. Give me like five minutes to recover here. Whoo. Vienna: A full five minutes? Henry: Okay, maybe two minutes, three minutes, tops. Maybe some aspirin, too. Vienna: We have more champagne, but it's all the way over there. Henry: I suppose I could crawl over to get it. Vienna: You're my hero. Let me get you a glass. Ohh. It's on the floor. It's all dirty. Henry: It's fine. Vienna: No, it was on the floor. Henry: So were we. Vienna: Can you just rinse it out for me? Please? Henry: Okay. Ooh, I think I pulled something. What the hell are you doing?!
Henry: How could you do this? Vienna: You're not supposed to see that. Henry: You think?! Vienna: It's not a big deal. Henry: Not a big deal? This is entrapment, Vienna. Vienna: No, no, no, I wasn't trying to trap you. You're overreacting. Henry: Why did you do this? Vienna: I was experimenting. Henry: What?! What?! We talked about this, okay? We agreed, children is not something that we want! Vienna: No, I really tried to accept it, Henry. I tried, but this feeling, this longing inside of me of having a child of our own just came floating back. And what was I supposed to do? Henry: You talk about it! That's what you do. Punching holes in condoms, that's not what you do. Vienna: No, because I knew that it was no use of talking about it to you because every time I bring up a baby, you say no. Henry: And you ignore that? You take the choice away from me? Vienna: Listen, if we had a baby, you would be happy, Henry. I know it. You wouldn't question how we got it. Henry: No, no, you're wrong. Yes, I would question it, okay? Listen, listen, look at me. Look at me. When we make love, it's not just costumes and safe words, okay? It is about loving and trusting you. And what you did tonight, that's not loving. It's not trusting. Vienna: So what are you saying? You don't trust me anymore? Henry: Should I? Vienna: Yes. I love you, Henry. Henry: Okay, all right. If you love me, then you need to be very honest with me right now. How many times have you done this? Vienna: Once. Henry: When? Vienna: When you went to get the champagne. Henry: Oh, my god. Oh, my god, are you saying that you could be -- Vienna: I could be pregnant right now! Henry: No, no, no, shh, no, this is not happening! This is not happening. Umm, jump. Vienna: What? Henry: Jump. Jump up and down. Sometimes if you do that afterwards, it doesn't happen. Come on, jump. Vienna: No, that's not true! Henry: I don't care! All right, jump, woman, jump! Jump! Vienna: No!
Vienna: Please don't be mad at me, Henry. Henry: What you did tonight was dishonest, and it was cruel. Vienna: I said I was sorry. Henry: Are you? Vienna: Yes. Henry: I don't understand what you were thinking -- Vienna: What I was thinking was how much I want us to have our baby. Henry: To trick me into it, though, even though you know it's something I don't want? Vienna: What about what I want? Henry: What? What? What do you want? We almost broke up over this. Vienna: I know. Henry: And having a baby, you want it so badly, you would risk that happening again? Vienna: No. Henry: You would risk us? Vienna: No. No, no, no, I would never risk us. Henry: I hope not. Vienna: Henry -- Henry: Don't. You could be -- I can't even say it. Vienna: I could be pregnant. And saying it out loud won't change anything. Henry: No, but having a baby could change everything.
